Reflections from the Share PLM Summit

Some time ago, we had an idea.
What if we created a different kind of PLM event?
One that focused less on tech specs and more on human connection.
One that felt warm, inspiring, and real. Not just another conference, but a space where people could come together to think, build, and grow.
That’s how the Share PLM Summit started.
And now that it’s over, I can confidently say: something special happened.

Why The Share PLM Summit
We’ve spent years helping companies implement tech, build digital twins, and train teams.
And again and again, we’ve seen the same thing.
It’s not tech that makes or breaks a project.
It’s the people.
So we decided to create something for them.
A place where leaders, doers, and change-makers could step away from the day-to-day and talk about what really matters in tech transformation.
Not just features or data models.
But community.
Trust.
Learning.
And what it actually takes to drive change.
We chose a bodega in the south of Spain for a reason. It was beautiful, yes. But more than that, it took us out of our routines and into a new rhythm. That change of space opened the door to new conversations.

Power to the People: How We Made It Happen
Behind the scenes, this event was built with a lot of care, intention, and problem-solving.
Our team went all in. We planned for months. We adapted constantly. We handled logistics, speakers, last-minute changes, and even brewed emergency coffee when the catering fell through.
Everyone showed up to make it happen.
And not just our internal team.
The speakers, the sponsors, the guests.
Everyone co-created this experience with us.
That’s what made it powerful.

5 Things I Loved About the Event
1. The Setup Was Pure Magic
Holding the event in a bodega in southern Spain changed the whole atmosphere. It felt like stepping into a parallel world where people were more open, more present, and more curious. That kind of environment brings out creativity and real connection.
2. Seeing More Women in the Room
This time, around 40 percent of attendees were women. At most tech events, I’m often the only one. So this was emotional for me. It created a more balanced energy in the room, and it reminded me how important it is to keep creating spaces where everyone feels seen.
3. Learning from People I Admire
We had industry legends like Jos Voskuil, Oleg Shilovitsky, and Martin Eigner. And also brilliant clients who I learn from every time we talk. Thelma Bonello, Andrea Jarvren, Antonio Casaschi, Johan Mikkelä. It was amazing to hear their stories and reflections in such an open setting.

4. The Heart of the Team
There were so many moments when I looked around and thought, I’m proud of these people. From making coffee to managing tech setups to making every guest feel welcome, our team lived our core value: take ownership and make it happen.
5. The Human Energy
This is hard to describe. It was in the hugs, the hallway chats, the spontaneous laughter, and the shared ideas. We talked about AI, PLM, digital transformation. But what people remembered most was the feeling of being there together.

Things We’ll Improve Next Time
1. Wi-Fi in Every Corner
Some areas didn’t have access. We’ll make sure next year’s venue has strong and consistent Wi-Fi throughout.
2. Better Seating
The chairs weren’t very comfortable. We heard the feedback and we’ll do better. A long day needs a good chair.
3. Coffee Availability
Coffee was delayed, and sometimes never arrived. That’s not okay. Next year, we’ll have continuous coffee available for everyone, all day.
4. Catering That Matches the Pace
We love Andalusian culture, but slow food service didn’t match our agenda. We’ll partner with a new catering company next year and set clear expectations on timing.

My 5 Key Takeaways from the Share PLM Summit
1. Connection Is the New Currency
People crave real connection. It’s what moves ideas forward and builds lasting change.
2. AI Is Everywhere for a Reason
Every talk touched on AI. It’s not a trend. It’s a shift. And it’s going to shape how we work and live.
3. AI Doesn’t Fix Bad Data
Oleg put it well. AI without strong data is useless. What matters is company knowledge and how it’s structured.

4. We Need New Enterprise Architectures
The old systems won’t keep up. We need to move to modular setups, open platforms, and networks of data. This shift is happening now.
5. Community Will Be the Real Advantage
In an AI-powered world, what will matter most is not the tools, but the people. Businesses that invest in trust, community, and learning will lead.

Final Thoughts
This summit reminded me why I do what I do.
Because it’s not about slides or software. It’s about people. It’s about creating space for change. It’s about building a future that feels good, not just efficient.
Thank you to everyone who made this event possible.
And if you weren’t there — I hope we’ll see you at the next one.
Let’s keep building a future that’s boldly human, together.
